Winter Ceiling Fans

It’s that time of year again! We’re transitioning to using heat in our homes pretty much all the time now. And while using our ceiling fans might not seem like the logical choice in the colder months, you can actually use them to help more evenly heat your home.

First, you’ll need to locate the switch on your ceiling fan and set it so that your blades turn clockwise. This pushes the air upwards into the room and then out towards the edges of the ceiling. Since warmer air rises, this warmer air is then pushed back down into the room. And the cycle continues… Warmer house, and financial savings for you!

Test it out, and see if you can either set your thermostat lower as a result, or if your heater runs less often.

And then go put on a sweatshirt and socks! You’ll enjoy the winter even more.
