Flower Moon

We’ve reached another full moon of 2021! As I’ve filled this month with posts about my favorite spring flowers, it’s fitting that the Algonquin people named this the Flower Moon.

This year’s Flower Moon is also a Super Moon - it’s closer to the Earth than other full moons this year and will appear bigger and brighter in the sky than average. And if you’re lucky enough to live in certain areas of the world, there will also be a total lunar eclipse with this moon!

But no matter where you are in the world, take some time to go outside tonight and enjoy the details of our planet’s closest neighbor.

A beautiful book to share with kids this week is The Moon Keeper by author/illustrator Zosienka. It’s a tale of friendship, caring, and the changes that inevitably happen in our day-to-day lives.
