I blew in on a Thursday afternoon.
Spinning, tumbling, whirling from wind-blown clouds to the green earth below.
Already I heard the grumbling.
“Snow?”
“Not again.”
“I thought it was spring.”
No one wants spring snow.
No snowman for me.
No snowballs or forts.
No faces turned to the sky, mouths wide open in anticipation of my cool sting.
Just collars turned up against the winds that brought me here, muffling the scowls and sighs from within.
I am too late. The time for snow has passed.
What does my future hold?
Reflecting on the world into which I have fallen, I feel a warm ray of sunlight strengthen around me.
I melt.
Sinking into the soil, I find
A seed.
