Add some plants

I had the fortune to watch the movie “Kiss the Ground” as a part of my work this week. One of the concepts it highlighted was the importance of plants to the health of our Earth and the health of our species.

Plants are able to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and give off oxygen in return. They’re responsible for creating the oxygen-breathing planet that we inhabit today. They’re also able to return carbon dioxide to the soil through their roots, which make them a large part of the factor in future climate change reversal strategies.

So, this one seems simple, but is maybe harder in practice… Add some plants to your life. Yes, you’ll probably have to care for them. Yes, they may not survive. (Many of our plants are herbs or mint so that we can eat them too!)

But plants, whether indoors or out, bring a smile to our faces and a literal breath of fresh air to our bodies and our planet. It’s a small way we can all make a difference.
