Donate Clothes
As the season changes over into our colder months, I find myself looking for small bits of time to change over our closets from summer to winter clothes. During this shift, I’m always reminded about how lucky we are to have many “new to us” clothes from friends.
When you are done with clothes, evaluate them and see if they can have a new life with someone else. Kids clothes are often easy to pass on to younger friends or relatives. In-good-shape adult clothes can be a wonderful thing to give to someone else, especially if it’s given with the attitude of “feel free to pass it on if it doesn’t work for you”. We don’t wear them out as often as our kids, and - if you’re like me - it saves time (and money) on going shopping!
And please don’t count out resale stores like Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, homeless shelters or outreach services. Clothes that might now work for you don’t belong in a landfill - give others the chance to use them instead of throwing them out!
