Recycle Bread Bags
Just a friendly reminder… It’s not just plastic grocery bags that can be returned to the store for recycling. Thin film plastics can be repurposed into composite decking, and there are now places that are melting the plastic down into oils that can then be recycled into thin film plastic again. Once this system is fully developed, thin film plastic could be infinitely recyclable like glass or aluminum.
Now, where possible, please choose to use other products instead of thin film plastic (cloth grocery/produce bags, etc). But if you’re like our house, homemade sandwich bread is not acceptable for school lunches. *sigh*
We buy a couple of loaves each week and have many bread bags to show for it. I stuff them all together - along with overwrap, cereal bags and other thin film plastic - and drop them off at our local grocery store to be recycled.
